How are the betting percentages compiled?

Sports Insights displays and tracks the percentages of wagers placed on the spread (SPD), moneyline (ML), over/under (OU) and parlay/teaser (PY).

The columns with a '#' symbol represent the percentage of bets, while the columns with the '$' symbol represent the percentage of dollars. The over is always the top number in the over/under columns. For example, the over is getting 48% of bets and 24% of dollars in the Giants-Patriots game.

Sports Insights polls the participating sportsbooks’ databases every 1-2 seconds and compiles running averages. The betting percentages represent an average taken across all participating sportsbooks.
